What does EV mean?

Expected value is the average amount you would expect to win or lose per bet if you could repeat the same situation many times. Positive EV means your estimated chance of winning is better than the sportsbook price requires. Negative EV means the price does not appear favorable. A positive result can still lose today, and an inaccurate win-probability estimate will produce an inaccurate EV result.
